Florida State Ranked Nation’s 12th Best Value Law School

TALLAHASSEE — The National Jurist magazine has ranked Florida State University College of Law the 12th best value law school in the nation. The ranking, published in The National Jurist’s September 2012 issue, weighs important student outcomes – bar passage rate and employment rate – against tuition, cost of living and indebtedness. Schatzman named to Miami President’s Council

Robert “Bobby” A. Schatzman, attorney in the Miami office of GrayRobinson, P.A., has been selected to join the University of Miami President’s Council, a group of alumni who serve as ambassadors for the university and provide their assistance through various leadership contributions and resource support. Schatzman has concentrated his practice primarily on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, as well as banking and finance for over 35 years. His experience includes litigating and defending Chapter 5 and Chapter 11 causes of action, representing creditors and debtors’ committees and sophisticated out-of-court workouts. Stetson U Launches Summer Pre-Law Institute

STAFF REPORT DELAND-- Stetson University in Central Florida is now accepting applications for its new Stetson University Summer Pre-Law Institute, a rigorous, six-week course in which undergraduate college students will be chosen to prepare for law school and a career in the legal field. Students enrolled in the unique program will spend four weeks on Stetson's DeLand, campus, taking a critical thinking course designed for pre-law students, and two weeks at the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport-St. Petersburg in an immersion program designed to introduce students to the law school experience and the practice of law. FAMU College of Law Hires Director of IT

Orlando, Fla. The Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law recently announced the hiring of Shashi Persaud as the new director of Information Technology (IT) after a national search. Persaud has more than 11 years of experience as a director of IT in both Tallahassee and Central Florida, and carries extensive technical and management experience specializing in software, hardware and network connectivity issues. He has served as a senior IT administrator for both the Department of Homeland Security and the First District Court of Appeals in Tallahassee.
