Judge Blocks Testimony from Casey Anthony Fiancé

By BARBARA LISTON '(Reuters) - The former fiancé of accused child killer Casey Anthony testified on Tuesday that she claimed she once woke up to find her older brother standing over her, staring at her while she slept. Judge Belvin Perry called Jesse Grund's testimony impermissible hearsay evidence, and said he won't allow the jury to hear it unless defense lawyers persuade him otherwise with sufficient legal arguments. Defense lawyer Jose Baez called George Anthony to the stand but did not question him about accusations made in the defense's opening statement that he helped dispose of Caylee's body after she drowned in the family pool and that he had sexually abused Casey when she was a little girl, ABC news reported Tuesday. Instead, Baez questioned him about his relationship with Krystal Holloway, one of the volunteers helping in the search for his granddaughter. The defense claims the two had an affair. The defense alleges Anthony told Holloway Caylee's disappearance was an "accident that snowballed out of control," … [Read more...]
