Heads’ ‘Road To Nowhere’ Ends in Tampa

Staff Report

TAMPA — Talking Heads front man David Byrne has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Gov. Charlie Crist for the unlicensed use of the bands 1985 hit Road To Nowhere in campaign ads.

Crist allegedly used the song in ads against Marco Rubio that ran on his Web site and over YouTube last January.

In papers filed in Tampa federal court, Byrne said the unpermitted use constitutes copyright infringement and also implies he is supporting whatever Crist stands for.
